Interviewing Mr. Lee

Today in class you will interview Mr. Lee. Please bring your list of questions and be ready to take LOTS of notes. Note the following:

1. Your questions and article focus will be one of the following. See p. 64 in INTRODUCTION TO JOURNALISM for more details on each:

• informative


• personality


• opinion

2. Review the questioning techniques (p. 69) and interviewing tips (p. 70).

3. See page 71 for more information about writing up the interview. You can structure it several different ways, but your primary choices are as follows. Do NOT write it up simply as a question-answer article.

• informative or opinion questions ===> news story (lead paragraph, story, quotes).


• personality, opinion, informative ===> feature story (introduction, story).

4. 300-600 words, due Friday, 8 Jan. 10.
